Valley City (CSI) – Mark your calendars for a fun-filled evening at Chautauqua Park as Valley City Parks & Recreation (VCPR) hosts its annual Safety in the Park event on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. This family-friendly celebration is part of National Parks and Recreation Month and promises an unforgettable mix of fun, food, and community connections.
Get ready to meet Valley City’s hometown heroes! Firefighters, police officers, EMTs, sheriffs, and other first responders will be on hand to showcase their emergency vehicles, answer questions, and give kids (and adults!) an up-close look at their life-saving equipment. It’s a great way to connect with those who keep our community safe.
And it’s not just about safety — it’s about celebration! The event is completely FREE and offers plenty of entertainment for the whole family:
- Complimentary hot dogs, chips, and water
- Giant inflatables for children to enjoy
- Music, games, and high-energy fun
Free-will donations from the meal will go toward the VCPR Foundation, helping to enhance local parks and recreational programs for everyone in Valley City.
Special thanks go to Dakota Prairie Associates – Thrivent for generously sponsoring this celebration, ensuring this summer tradition remains free and accessible to all.
Gather your family, invite your friends, and come enjoy an evening of fun, safety, and community spirit!
