NARRATIVE: On July 26, 2025, the North Dakota Highway Patrol responded to a report of a
submerged vehicle in Stink Lake. The exact date and time of the crash are currently unknown.
Preliminary investigation at the scene revealed tire marks in the gravel, indicating a recent
crash. The Toyota entered the west ditch and rolled over large rocks before coming to rest on
its roof in Stink Lake. The driver of the Toyota, Rita Kubat, was pronounced deceased at the
scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
