Jamestown (Chamber) – The Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce Ag & Energy Committee recognized two outstanding individuals during the 2025 Farmer Appreciation Festival, held July 29 at Drift Prairie Brewing Company. The event celebrates the dedication and impact of local producers and ag professionals across the region.

This year’s Agricultural Woman of the Year is Della McClean of rural Barnes County. Della has been rooted in agriculture her entire life, growing up on her family farm and later taking over the operation alongside her husband, Joel. In addition to farming, the McCleans have run McClean Haygrinding since 1993, serving more than 100 cattle producers across a 70-mile radius. Della manages the daily schedule and handles the finances for both businesses, all while doing hands-on work in the field. From hauling grain to rolling soybean fields, she’s a vital part of the operation. Outside of agriculture, Della serves as treasurer for Meadowlake Township and is a long-time member of Epworth United Methodist Church. Her work ethic, humility, and love for her family make her the glue that holds their multi-generational farm together.

The Young Farmer of the Year award went to Taylor Dockter of Medina. Taylor and her husband Dylan manage the Bar G Ranch and Feedlot while raising their three children. In addition to her farm work, Taylor serves the community as Director of Nursing at the Anne Carlsen Center and as an EMT on the Medina Area ambulance since 2014. She also serves on the council at English Lutheran Church, teaches Sunday school, and contributes to the future of healthcare through advisory boards at both the University of Jamestown and Valley City State University. Her dedication to agriculture, healthcare, and community service is a testament to her leadership and drive.

Both honorees were celebrated alongside their families, friends, and fellow producers. Their stories reflect the strength, service, and future of agriculture in the Jamestown area.
