Robert “Bob” Walker, 79, passed away on Saturday, July 26 at his home in Jamestown, ND, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with leukemia. He will be deeply missed.

Bob was born on September 10th, 1945, in Jamestown, North Dakota, to Edward and Bertha (Opp) Walker. After his graduation from West Fargo High School in 1963, he served in the United States Air Force. He then lived in Seattle, Washington, where he worked for the Boeing Company. He later returned to Jamestown, where he married Ardelle on November 26, 1993. He spent years as a caregiver at the North Dakota State Hospital and Alpha Opportunities. He continued to work until the week before his death, never one to be idle, serving as the manager of the Dewey Apartments in Jamestown.

Bob was a man of many talents and passions. He was deeply invested in the lives of his grandchildren and great grandchildren, rarely missing their events or family gatherings. He even traveled all the way to Nashville to celebrate New Year’s Eve with his family just last year. He deeply cherished his constant companion, his dog, Bailey. He enjoyed spending time outside: fishing, building his patio, or just watching the geese float down the river along Klaus Park. He also loved classic cars and was most recently the proud owner of a BMW Z4 convertible. He took pride in his varied skill set and was fiercely independent.

He is survived by his step-children: Mark (Linda) Kelly, Tracy (Randy) Neva, Pat (Tammy) Kelly, and Joseph (Laurel) Kelly; sisters: Shirley Scrivens, Beverly Tobin, and Diana (Tom) Moores; brother-in-law, Dave Tarbell; multiple nieces and nephews; and many, adored grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 27 years, Ardelle Walker, and his parents, Edward and Bertha Walker.

In lieu of flowers or cards, donations can be made in his name to Jamestown Regional Medical Center Hospice.

Memorial Service – 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 1, 2025 at New Hope Free Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Steve Berntson officiating.
