Jamestown (CSI) – The Dakota Anglers invite members and fishing enthusiasts to join the annual Steak Fry Outing on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Parkhurst Campground on Pipestem Reservoir. This full-day event combines friendly fishing competition with a delicious steak fry and potluck meal for the club’s membership.

Tournament Details:

  • Teams: Two-person teams; at least one member must be a Dakota Anglers member ($20 annual fee).
  • Registration: 7:00–8:00 a.m. at Four Winds Sharpening. Bring your boat for an ANS (Aquatic Nuisance Species) inspection, or call Cody Wegner at 701-320-9578 if you cannot bring it.
  • Fishing Start: 8:00 a.m.
  • Weigh-In: 3:00 p.m. sharp at Parkhurst Campground. Call Cody by 2:30 p.m. if delays occur.

Teams may fish any one legal North Dakota water and must declare their location at registration. All ND Game and Fish regulations apply.

Scoring & Format:

  • Catch-Picture-Release (CPR) system to promote conservation.
  • Three northern pike (minimum 20”) and five walleye (minimum 14”) eligible for points using a length-to-weight multiplier.
  • Two required photos per fish: one on a measuring board with nose at bump stop, and one with the angler holding the fish and the provided numbered tag visible.
  • Photos must be texted to Cody by 3:00 p.m. on weigh-in day.

Late arrivals will face a 20% point deduction every 10 minutes up to 30 minutes, after which disqualification will occur.

Prizes & Awards:

  • 100% payback, with the club covering the 10% conservation fee.
  • Number of payout places determined by participation.
  • Plaques for 1st Place, Largest Walleye, and Largest Northern Pike.

Following the tournament, members and guests are invited to enjoy a steak fry and potluck meal. You do not need to fish to participate in the meal—just bring a dish to share and enjoy the evening with fellow anglers.
