NDHP – On Saturday, August 23, 2025, at approximately 11:45 p.m., a 2006 Freightliner semitruck was disabled on the westbound shoulder and partially in the roadway on 80th Street North, just east of the intersection with 17th Avenue North. The Freightliner had its rear lights activated and emergency triangles placed at the rear of the vehicle. A 2008 Ram driven by a 56-year-old male of Minot, ND was parked nose-to-nose in front of the Freightliner as its occupants attempted to repair the disabled semi. A 2022 Chevrolet driven by a 19-year-old of Bottineau, ND was traveling westbound on 80th Street North when it collided with the rear of the semi-trailer combination. The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado was pronounced deceased on the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
