NDHP – On Tuesday, August 26 at approximately 8:06 AM, a 4-vehicle rear end crash occurred on I-94 eastbound near MM 347. A separate property-only crash on eastbound I-94, MM 349 occurred several minutes before (approximately 8:00 AM) and resulted in slow-to stopped traffic on I-94 at the time. A Toyota Tundra, Ford Explorer, and Chevy Impala came to a stop due to traffic in front of them stopping. The driver of a 2016 Ford Fusion driven by a 22-year-old male of Fargo, ND failed to observe that traffic in front of him was coming to a stop. The Ford Fusion rear-ended the 2019 Chevy Impala driven by a 28-year-old Fargo man, pushing the Impala into the Ford Explorer. The Ford Explorer was then pushed into the back of the 2025 Toyota Tundra driven by a 41-year-old male of Fargo, ND. The passenger of the Chevy Impala sustained serious injuries and was transported via Sanford ambulance to Sanford Medical Center. None of the other parties involved were injured. The driver of the Ford Fusion was cited for following too close. The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
