Winnipeg – The UND men’s basketball team spent four nights in Winnipeg this past week, where the team got to face other opponents and grow on and off the court.
The Fighting Hawks played three exhibition games, two against the University of Winnipeg and one against the University of Manitoba. North Dakota Head Coach Paul Sather and his staff got to get a first look at their team in game action, that features seven new players and returns one starter from the 2024-2025 season.
“Our trip to Canada accomplished exactly what we hoped it would,” Sather said. We got to spend quality time together to build relationships within our team and coaching staff; we had a full week of practice, film, and skill development together. We were able to play some games against some quality outside competition, so we can continue our growth as a team.”
UND opens exhibition play on Oct. 18 against Jamestown at the Betty Englestad Sioux Center.
