NDHP – On Sunday, August 31, 2025, at approximately 12:25 a.m., the Burleigh County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a 2009 Harley Davidson Motorcycle driven by a 28-year-old male of Bismarck, ND for a traffic violation after observing the vehicle traveling without a license plate. The motorcycle fled southbound on State Street from I94 at a high rate of speed and struck a concrete curb that separates northbound and southbound lanes. The driver was ejected and the motorcycle came to rest in the northbound lanes. The motorcycle continued to skid before coming to rest on Divide Avenue. The driver was not wearing a helmet and sustained serious injuries in the crash. He was transported by ambulance to CHI St. Alexius in Bismarck. Burleigh County Sheriff’s Office was not involved in the crash and will investigate any criminal charges against the driver. The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
