Laurie Staab passed away Saturday September 13, 2025, a devoted wife, loving mother, and faithful servant of Christ, passed away peacefully with her husband by her side on September 13, 2025 at the age of 73.

Born on August 8, 1952, in Minneapolis, MN, to Reverend Harold K. Emerson and Joy N. Emerson (née Flegel), Laurie built a life defined by love, service, and creativity. Her faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life, and she lived every day as a reflection of His grace. On July 29, 1972, she married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Gary L. Staab, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned more than five decades.

Laurie shared her gifts not only with her family but also through a successful career in advertising. Known for her creativity, dedication, and keen eye for detail, she built meaningful professional relationships and inspired colleagues with her ability to bring ideas to life. Laurie was also an accomplished musician. She was the church organist, spent years teaching organ and piano lessons, and playing for the simple joy of creating music.

At home, Laurie’s heart was always with her family. She was a loving mother to Lisa (Staab) Vega, Kimberly (Staab) Schultz and her husband Tim Schultz, and Emily Staab and her husband Jim McMaster. She was a proud grandmother to Alexander Vega, Justin Vega, Lucas Schultz, Matthew Schultz and Violet McMaster; and a cherished great-grandmother to Calum Vega. She is also survived by her siblings: Marc and Lynn Emerson, Joel and Jeanne Emerson, Kari and Bob Lewis, Richard Emerson, and Mary Maney; and by many beloved in-laws, nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends all of whom were touched by her kindness and warmth.

In her free time, she found joy in simple pleasures—especially playing Scrabble and working on jigsaw puzzles, hobbies that reflected her thoughtful nature and sharp mind. She found joy in beauty—through art, flowers, music, and the simple, sacred moments of daily life. Her spontaneous hymn singing was a joyful expression of her spirit and brought comfort and delight to those around her.

Laurie’s life was a testament to faith, love, and kindness. She will be remembered for her spirit, her laughter, and quick wit. Laurie’s life was a testament to her unwavering faith in Christ. She lived with purpose and compassion, always putting the needs of others before her own. She had a special way of making people feel seen, heard, and loved.
