Gary LeRoy Housh, 75, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Jamestown, ND, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Sanford on 23rd, Fargo, ND.
Gary was born September 21, 1949, in Fargo, ND, the son of David and Dorothy (Johnson) Housh. The family lived in Oakes, ND where Gary began elementary school, and then they moved to Jamestown in 1957. He attended Lincoln Elementary and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1967. Gary served in the US Navy on March 12, 1969 at Great Lakes, IL. He was a gunner’s mate on the USS Cacapon during the Vietnam conflict. Gary was discharged on April 18, 1973 at Long Beach, CA. He married Linda Geigle in June of 1974, and to this union was born two boys, Chad and Chris. Gary was later married to Teresa Lerew on March 9, 2007.
Gary’s first job was working for Art Henke at the roller-skating rink in Jamestown. He also worked for Twin Highway Mobile, Montgomery Ward, Hansen Tire, and did custom combining and worked at Central Sales. Gary did numerous trucking jobs before being employed at Asplin Excavating for over 20 years. He volunteered for the Fargo VA Hospital, alongside the therapy dog, Bell.
Gary was a member of the V.F.W, DAV, Eagles, and American Legion. He continued to enjoy roller skating for many years, along with hunting, fishing, and spending time at the lake.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Housh, West Fargo; sons, Chad (Melissa Guthmiller) Housh, Montpelier, ND and Chris (DeAnna Frantsen) Housh, Jamestown; sisters, Sue (Doug) Gomke, Fargo and Judy (Brent) Sundeen, Jamestown; brother, Mark (Julie) Housh, West Fargo; many nieces and nephews; and aunts, Barb Komrowski, Moorhead, MN and Gloria Housh, Findlay, OH.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, David and Dorothy Housh and great nephew, Keaton Sundeen.
Memorial Service – 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, with Pastor Bryce Tahran officiating.
Burial – Fargo National Cemetery, Harwood, ND.
