JTPD- On Sept 26, 2025, at 1755 hrs., the Jamestown Police Department responded to a report of an injury accident involving a pickup and a motorcycle at the 8th Ave NE and 13th St NE intersection.
A North Dakota Highway Patrol Trooper arrived on scene first and began rendering aid to the motorcyclist. The motorcycle was a 2010 Honda being driven by a 24-year-old male from Jamestown. The pickup involved was a 1993 Ford Ranger being driven by a juvenile from Jamestown. The driver of the pickup remained on scene and assisted in the crash investigation.
The 24-year-old motorcyclist was transported to Jamestown Regional Medical Center by Jamestown Area Ambulance and later transferred to a Fargo Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
An initial investigation into the accident determined the Ford Ranger was traveling south on 8th Ave NE and stopped at the stop sign at 8th Ave NE and 13th St NE. The motorcycle was traveling west on 13th St NE. After stopping at the stop sign and waiting for other traffic to clear, the Ford Ranger entered the intersection and struck the motorcycle. The motorcycle laid down on its left side and slid across the road to the far eastbound lane where it came to rest. The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet.
The driver of the Ford Ranger stated they did not see the oncoming motorcycle and believed the intersection was clear. The driver of the Ford Ranger was cited for failure to yield after stopping.
The Jamestown Police Department was assisted by the North Dakota Highway Patrol and the Jamestown Area Ambulance.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
