Valley City – As part of Fire Prevention Month, the Sheyenne Valley Memory Café invites community members to a fire safety session with the Valley City Fire Department on Thursday, October 23, 2025.
The presentation will focus on essential fire prevention strategies for older adults and individuals living with memory loss. Topics will include smoke alarm placement, home escape planning, and safety considerations for those who use mobility aids, hearing devices, or eyeglasses.
“Everyone needs a fire safety plan that fits their abilities and their home,” states Fire Chief Scott Magnuson of the Valley City Fire Department.
Doors open at 1:00 PM, followed by the fire safety program at 1:30 PM at Faith Lutheran Church, 309 4th Street NE, Valley City.
