Valley City (VCPR) – Valley City Parks and Recreation is celebrating the spooky season with a lineup of family-friendly Halloween events throughout October. From free movies to candy-filled community gatherings, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

The festivities begin with Free Movie Friday on October 17 at the Valley Twin Cinema. Showings of Hotel Transylvania will take place at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Admission is free, and seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendees are encouraged to bring money for drinks and snacks, which will be available for purchase at the theater.

The fun continues with Trunk or Treat on Friday, October 24 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Chautauqua Park Loop. Families can drive through a series of decorated booths hosted by local businesses and organizations while collecting candy, prizes, and other goodies in a Halloween bag provided by Valley City Parks and Recreation. In the spirit of giving, the event will also collect non-perishable food donations for the Barnes County Food Pantry.

Both events are free and open to the public, offering safe and festive ways for families to celebrate Halloween in Valley City. For more information, visit vcparks.com.
