Valley City ND (VCSU) – Valley City State University students Conner Bowling, Aaron Cutshall, and Jacoby Hunt, along with their advisors Dr. Yang Du and Dr. Xin Wang, recently represented VCSU at the Digi-Key Collegiate Computing Competition (DKC³) held Oct. 16–17 in Thief River Falls, Minn.

DKC³, hosted annually at Digi-Key headquarters since 2000, brings together top computing students from across the Upper Midwest. This year’s competition featured twenty-six teams from fourteen universities in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Participants were challenged to solve twenty-five logical problems, fifteen short coding problems, and four long coding problems—all within a demanding four-hour timeframe.

The VCSU team embraced the opportunity to sharpen their problem-solving and programming skills in a competitive, real-world setting. Through teamwork and determination, they gained valuable experience and strategies to enhance their future studies and careers in computing.

Congratulations to the VCSU team for proudly representing the university and demonstrating their commitment to innovation and collaboration in computer science.
