Jamestown ND (Chamber) – The Arts Center celebrated a major milestone on Thursday, November 13, with the grand opening of its newly completed expansion. The event, marked by an official ribbon cutting, drew support from the Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors and staff, along with community members eager to see the enhanced facility.

Located at 115 2nd St. SW, The Arts Center continues to grow as a creative hub in Jamestown. Its new 4,000-square-foot addition includes a classroom, culinary kitchen, artist studios, gallery commons, and expanded office and storage space. These improvements significantly increase the Center’s capacity to offer community programming, art education, and events for both youth and adults.

The expansion reflects years of planning and dedication by the Jamestown Fine Arts Association. After acquiring the building in 2023, construction moved forward in 2024 as part of the ongoing capital campaign, “Raising the Bar for the Arts.” Future phases include renovating upstairs apartments to host visiting artists and developing an outdoor courtyard to further enhance the Center’s creative environment.

One of the most anticipated features of the project is the new culinary kitchen. Built in partnership with Jamestown Public Schools and the James Valley Career and Technology Center, the space is set to host student-led culinary classes beginning in 2026. Outside of school use, the kitchen will support Arts Center programming and other licensed culinary needs, expanding the variety of experiences available to the community.

The Arts Center continues to play a vital role in the growth and cultural vibrancy of Jamestown, and this expansion marks an important step in its mission to provide inclusive, engaging arts opportunities.
