Elaine Elizabeth Jaskowski, 88, of Jamestown ND, died suddenly on arrival at Jamestown Regional Medical Center, Wednesday, May 13, 2026.

Elaine was born November 19, 1937 on the family farm near Windsor, ND, the daughter of Joseph and Hattie (Kulla) Cichos.

She attended school at a one room schoolhouse and graduated from St. John’s Academy, Jamestown, in 1955. She completed the New York Hairdressing Academy in Fargo.

Elaine married Edward Jaskowski on January 28, 1957, at St. James Catholic Church, Jamestown.

She worked for Irene’s Beauty Salon from 1956-1962. Eddie and Elaine opened Beauty Haven in the Park Plaza Mall on January 15, 1963, as one of the original tenants. She continued working in the same location until she retired April 27, 2007.

She is survived by her son, Michael Jaskowski, and daughter Kathleen (Scott Snyder) Jaskowski; sisters, Lorraine Bair and Carole (John) Rowell.

Elaine’s favorite things were golfing, spending time in her yard, a quick trip to the casino and cheering on the Green Bay Packers.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie; son, Ronald; four brothers, Lawrence, Robert, Richard and Ronald; and sisters Margarite, Arlene and Rita.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in Elaine’s memory to St. John’s Academy, James River Humane Society or donor’s choice.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, May 19, 2026, the Basilica of St. James, 622 1st Ave S, Jamestown, ND with Fr. Bernard Pfau officiating. Burial will follow at St. Pauline’s Catholic Cemetery in Windsor, ND.
