Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News (Oct 28, 2013)   —  Jamestown is hosting the Economic Development Association of ND Fall Conference October 28-30, 2013.

The conference will begin with a social at the Quality Inn followed by two days of excellent speakers, agency updates, and roundtable discussions. This conference is not just for economic developers!  Topics will cover workforce, ND agency updates, and entrepreneurship.

The conference kicks off on Tuesday morning with Jeffrey Stamp, founder and chief story teller for Bold Thinking, LLC. Dr. Jeffrey Stamp has over 25 years of worldwide experience in bringing out the creative best in business professionals and university students. He is recognized worldwide as a master creative practitioner and has developed numerous methods designed to accelerate ‘Discovery Thinking’ and cognitive fluidity. Dr. Stamp also resided as the endowed chair of entrepreneurship and innovation at the University of North Dakota.

On Tuesday afternoon, we are very fortunate to have Christopher Lloyd, senior vice president and director of infrastructure and economic development for McGuire Woods Consulting, presenting on Winning the War Against Incentives. Economic development incentives are under attack like never before. His session will not only critically examine the facts and rhetoric used to question incentives, but also will also explore ways economic developers can show how an effective incentives program, one founded on transparency and accountability, can better withstand scrutiny.

In addition to our keynote speakers, we will have agency updates, roundtable discussions and a number of informative panels for you to attend.
