Jamestown (CSi)  —  All Vets Club activities for veterans and their families, on Veterans Day, Monday Nov 11,  include:

  • Free pancake breakfast starting at 7:30-a.m., till 10-a.m.
  • Free Soup Buffet at 11-a.m.
  • Bingo starts at noon
  • No-host social at 5-p.m.
  • Jamestown Drum and Bugle Corp will perform at 5:30-p.m
  • POW/MIA Ceremony at 6-p.m.
  • Alexis Barnick will perform after the banquet

All area veterans are encouraged to attend. A special welcome to the 817th National Guard members and their families.  Veteran organizations are invited to set up membership tables during the day, and the VFW Auxiliary will again have their Bake Sale in the “Auxiliary Room.”   For More information call The All Vets Club at 252-8994.

BISMARCK (CSi) – Gov. Jack Dalrymple will honor North Dakota’s veterans and service members by attending a Veterans Day ceremony on Monday, November 11, beginning at 10 a.m. in the Missouri River Events Center at the North Dakota Heritage Center in Bismarck. Lt. Gov. Drew Wrigley will attend a flag raising ceremony for the North Dakota Medal of Honor Memorial at 4 p.m. at Roosevelt Park in Minot. The former memorial was damaged as a result of the 2011 flood and has since been restored. November 11 marks the official re-opening of the memorial.

Gov. Dalrymple is encouraging North Dakotans to observe Veterans Day, Monday, November 11, by honoring the service and sacrifice of veterans and those currently serving at home and abroad through ceremonies and patriotic activities, and by displaying the American and North Dakota flags.

“Throughout our history, generations of patriots have answered this nation’s call to duty and have courageously defended our homeland and protected our way of life,” said Dalrymple. “Our veterans and servicemen and women represent the very best of our state and nation, serving with honor and distinction and selflessly making sacrifices in the name of freedom and democracy. On Veterans Day, we pay tribute to all who have worn the uniform of the United States Armed Forces, honor the heroes we have lost and recognize those who are currently defending the ideals of our great nation.”
