Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) — The First Annual, Bark in the Park, will be on Sunday September 16, 2012, at McElroy Park’s, Sertoma Shelter.

The proceeds will go to support, Prairie Paws Rescue, and Service Dogs for America.

On Friday’s (Sept 7, 2012) Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Prairie Paws’, Kaye John said,

the event gives individuals and their dogs the opportunity to walk one mile together in the park, while supporting Prairie Paws Rescue, and Service Dogs for America.

Also on our show, Shelley Nanaga representing Service Dogs for America, said, dollars raised will be matched by Modern Woodmen, up to $2,500, with the proceeds benefiting the many needs of Prairie Paws Rescue and Service Dogs for America, Scholarship Fund.

Sponsorships are also available which gives promotion opportunities for businesses.

Vendor booth space is available at no charge, however space is limited.

In conjunction with the walk in the park, Hugo’s is sponsoring “Brats and Lots of Dogs.”

Registration begins at 12 noon, at McElroy Park’s, Sertoma Shelter, with the walk starting at 1-p.m.

The registration fee is, per person (dogs free) is $15, children under 12 years old, $10, and a family is $25. This will get you into the walk, and food.

Kaye says individuals with out K-9s can “rent a dog,” for the walk.

Also during the walk, there will be a “best poker hand,” in addition to contests, such as “look alike,” best costume, silly dog tricks, and best tail waggin.

Activities will include, demonstrations by Service Dogs for America, clipping booths, doggie booths, Prairie Paws Rescue, and other specialty vendors.

There will be walks planned along the trail from the park, over to Pepper’s Dog Park.
