Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown Salvation Army will end this year’s Kettle Campaign at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday Dec 24.
Lt. Mitch Brecto says donations continue to be accepted via mail and at the Salvation Army office, on First Avenue North in Jamestown.
He says over the past few days contributions have picked up, with checks, and a few $100 bills.
During last weekend’s match, for North Dakota and Minnesota, the Jamestown Salvation Army allocation was $25,000, toward the goal of $147,000. So far it looks like the local campaign goal will fall about $10,000 short.
During the holiday season the Jamestown Salvation Army has been distributing Christmas magazines and calendars to residents in the nursing homes and prisons inthe area.
The Salvation Army has also distributed food baskets to those families in need and operates the Angel Tree program.
People choose tags from the Angel Tree and purchase gifts for the children enlisted on the tags.
