MimsJamestown (CSi) The Jamestown Police Dept has released additional information concerning an alleged stabbing that occurred Thursday evening, (Jan 30, 2014) shortly before 6-p.m., at the Wonder Bar at the corner of 2nd St  and 2nd Ave SE, in Jamestown.

Sgt. Tom Nagel says 42 year old Eureka “Lefty” Mims of Jamestown is alleged to have  stabbed  34 year old Marlin Decoteau, Jr., of Jamestown, with a knife.

Nagel says Decoteau on Friday afternoon was in the intensive care unit of a Fargo Hospital where he was airlifted to Thursday evening.  He was reportedly stabbed several times in his neck and chest.

Mims, as of Friday afternoon, was in custody at the Law Enforcement Center, Correctional Center, Charged with Aggravated Assault.

 Mims made his initial appearance in Southeast District Court Friday on the charge of aggravated assault. He is in Stutsman County Correctional Center on a $25,000 cash surety bond.

Nagel said the crime scene at the Wonder Bar was released Thursday night, after the area was contained, gathering evidence, and interviewing bar patrons, and the bar was open on Friday.  The investigation is continuing. Nagel asks that anyone that was at the Wonder Bar at the time of the incident with any information, contact Jamestown Police at 701-252-2414.

Jamestown, ND (CSi) – Jamestown Police and Stutsman County Sheriff officers responded to an altercation at the Wonder Bar early Thursday evening, Jan 30, 2014.

Jamestown Police report, a man was stabbed multiple times at approximately 6 p.m. Thursday.

Police say  as result of the  stabbing,  a man  was taken by Jamestown Ambulance to Jamestown Regional Medical Center, and another person was in custody.

At 6:30pm, four or more law enforcement vehicles were on 2nd St SW and 2nd Ave SE. Clothing was laying in the west driveway. Police tape had been put up along the west side of the bar building.

At 6:55pm, an individual was seen getting into the back of a waiting law enforcement vehicle.

Shortly after 8pm officers were observed searching the west driveway area next to the bar. The mobile command vehicle had been moved to 2nd Ave SE, on the west side of the Wonder Bar.

Anyone who witnessed the incident who hasn’t yet spoken with the police should call 252-2414 or 252-1000 to speak with a detective today
