RICHARDTON, N.D. (AP) – The eastbound lanes of Interstate 94 in southwestern North Dakota were closed to traffic for several hours early Monday after a semitrailer crash.
The Highway Patrol says the semi driver fell asleep shortly after 3:30 a.m. and crashed into a guardrail and a cement overpass support structure. Thirty-eight-year-old Ryan Bowman, of Salt Lake City, was taken to a Dickinson hospital with unspecified injuries.
I-94 was closed near Richardton and traffic detoured while Bowman was removed from the semitrailer, and while the wreckage was cleared from the scene. The eastbound lanes reopened shortly after 10 a.m.
