MrsNDamerica2014Jamestown (CSi)  Mrs. Jamestown America, Eliza Potratz, was crowned Mrs. North Dakota America, Saturday April 12, 2014 at the state pageant, held at the Jamestown Civic Center.

She will represent North Dakota at the 2014 Mrs. America Pageant in Tuscon, Arizona In August.

Eliza joins Mary Schwartzkopf of Jamestown as a Mrs. North Dakota America.

Mary was crowned Mrs. Jamestown America, and Mrs. North Dakota America in 2011.

On Friday’s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2 Ms. Potratz joined other contestants and Mary Schwartzkopf.

Eliza said that she was born and raised in Jamestown, and currently is a full-time student at University of Jamestown to graduate in May 2014 with a degree in criminal justice.

She added that she wants to follow in her parents’ footsteps Ed and Mary Holzworth, in law enforcement, a police officer with a goal of becoming a criminal justice teacher.

She is involved with the charitable “Walk to Remember” inspired by her father, who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.

She said “We all have life struggles, and finding the joy in little things, it helps.”  She emphasized the importance of people finding their inner strength as well as living in the moment, finding memories and enjoying them.

The first runner-up  Saturday was Sarah Gratton, Mrs. McLean County. The second runner-up was Rhonda Lura, Mrs. Carrington, and third runner-up was Shannon Smith-Eidson, Mrs. Fargo.

The Mrs. North Dakota America Pageant Weekend is planned for April 10-12, 2014,  with the final pageant show scheduled for Saturday at 7:00 PM at the Jamestown Civic Center.

Mary Schwartzkopf,  of Jamestown, Mrs. North Dakota-America 2011 and  the state pageant director, is  leading the festivities with her staff and Sister Queens (called the Queen Team) during the pageant weekend.

Local titleholders from across the state of North Dakota will be competing for the state crown having arrived  in Jamestown on Thursday, April 10th, 2014. During the pageant weekend, the ladies will be on location, participating in a photo-shoot in the city of Jamestown, visiting local attractions and meeting with pageant sponsors. This year, there will be an “In-House” Fashion show planned that Friday afternoon at Leanne’s Bridal in Jamestown with the local titleholders and Mrs. NDA 2014 modeling formel gowns and bridal wear that the store features.

Mrs. ND-America 2013, Aly Downs was interviewing locally to promote the pageant event on Friday morning, April 11th, in Jamestown, ND, as she and some of the other contestants were on The Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, along with Ms. Schwartzkoph.

The Mrs. North Dakota ~ America Pageant is the official state preliminary to the national event. It is also a stage from which women in North Dakota can promote family values, women causes and local charities. Mrs. ND- America state pageant is for married women that are at least 19 years of age – no age limit! She must be legally married at the time of competition, a North Dakota resident and a U.S. citizen. The 2014 Mrs. America Pageant that will be held in Tucson, AZ in August. The national office for Mrs. Americawill be holding an online contest called “Fabulous Face” which will feature the winner from each state on line that you can purchase votes for. (The proceeds will go to Charitable Causes). This year they will include an online page with the “First Runner-up Delegates” from every state that will have their photo to be voted on. The First Runner-up who wins with the most online votes will be an additional delegate at the Mrs. America 2014 as the National First Runner-up Winner, all expenses paid.
