Eleanora Jansen, 99, formerly of Adrian, ND, died Thursday 27, 2014 at her daughter’s home in Mandan, ND.
Eleanora was born on January 5, 1915, in Minnesota, MN, the daughter of William and Frieda (Oetzman) Froehlich. When Eleanora was an infant her family moved to a farm near Montpelier, ND. She graduated from Montpelier High School and soon after was married to John H. Jansen on the family farm on October 10th, 1939. They lived south of Eckelson, ND until 1945 when they moved to a farm near Adrian. She was a member of the Ladies Aid and Homemakers club.
Eleanora enjoyed making quilts, one for each child and grandchild, along with crocheting and knitting. She also played the piano and accordion.
Eleanora is survived by her children, Dennis (Diana) Jansen of Young, AZ, Bruce (Sandy) Jansen, Adrian, Douglas (Mary) Jansen, Lisbon, ND, Joan (Balzer) Ternes, Center, ND, Joyce (Dennis) Boss, Eleva, WI, Janel Taylor, Devils Lake, ND, and Jacalyn Jansen, Mandan, ND; 22 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers; and one sister.
Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Adrian, ND.
Visitation: None scheduled. Arrangements are in the care of Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND.
