prairiepawsJamestown (CSi) Prairie Paws Rescue in Jamestown has taken in 11 dogs that came from a “puppy mill,” in South Dakota.

On Thursday’s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Prairie Paws Rescue Founder and President, Kaye John said the puppies were “rescued”

from a breeder at a location in South Dakota, just south of the North Dakota border, earlier this week.

She added that the breeder had shut down operations.

She said the dogs. ranging in age from one to six or seven years old, are in relatively good condition, and will received medical care where needed, as they are held for foster care, and then adoption.

She pointed out that the medical needs are expensive, and thus continued monetary donations are always welcome.

Those wishing to make a monetary donation or to give gas cards for the van that extensively travels to pick up animals, can contact Kaye John, or go to the web site,

Also on our show, Kaye said the recent “Raise the Woof,” comedy tour that came to Jamestown raised over $3,000. That money plus the $3,000 donated by country music star, Miranda Lambert allowed, with the help of R.M. Stoudt in Jamestown, the purchase a new van, replacing the van that was old and in need of many repairs.

Another “Raise the Woof,” show is planned for February 27, 2015, at the Gladstone Inn & Suites in Jamestown.

Before that, the 2nd Annual Paw-Sta-Palooza fundraiser is set for November 1, 2014, at a location to be determined.
