Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown Rural Fire Department was called to fight a stubborn grass fire, Thursday, with the call coming in about 3:10-p.m., to 3768 88th Street Southeast.

Fire fighters constructed a defensive fire line as the fire caused an estimated 120-acres damage.

Residents had reported a grass fire and started back burning a fire line of their own to keep the grass fire away from some buildings to the north.

No injuries were reported in the fire.

Seven rural fire department units and 17 fire fighters were on the scene about three hours, using grass-fire rigs, a six-wheeler truck, two tankers and one personnel-transport unit.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
