Gerald Glen Kemmet, 83, Jamestown, ND died Wednesday evening May 7, 2014 at Eventide in Jamestown, ND.

Gerald was born August 31, 1930 at Steele, ND the son of John Kemmet and Martha (Weigand) Kemmet. He received his elementary education in the local school graduating from the Steele High School in 1949. He then attended Bismarck Junior College in Bismarck.

He entered the United States Marine Corp January 9, 1952 at Minneapolis, MN. He served in the Korean Conflict and was discharged January 6, 1954 at San Francisco, CA with the Rank of CPL.

He and Martha Hruby were married July 2, 1956 in Wilton, ND. They made their home in Jamestown where he worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone as a Cable Splicer for 32 years and retired March 5, 1981. Following his retirement they continued to reside in Jamestown. Martha passed away January 14, 2014.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Jamestown, ND. He was a member of the Eagles #2337, serving as President and Past President. He enjoyed bowling, hunting and fishing, best of all playing cards and going to the Casino.

Surviving are his 4 children, Sandra (James) Anderson, Kirkland, WA, Brian (Candi) Kemmet, Spicer, MN; Craig (Melody) Kemmet, Jamestown, ND, Kevin Kemmet, Mandan, ND; 7 grandchildren, Danielle, McKenzie, Sara, Samantha, Destinee, Remington, and Cody; 2 sisters, Darlene Boukather, Lincoln, NE; Loretta Cassono, Beaver, OR.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 3 sisters Lilay, Delores and Phyllis, and 1 brother, Gordon.

Funeral service – 10:30 AM Monday May 19, 2014 in Trinity Lutheran Church in Jamestown, ND with Rev. Kristi Weber, pastor officiating

Interment- For both Gerald & Martha will be made in the Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, ND following the service

Visitation – 1-7p.m. Sunday May 18, 2014
