Jamestown (CSi) In the wake of Friday evening’s flooding caused by torrential rains, motorists driving on Stutsman County township and county roads east of Jamestown on Saurday are being urged to use caution as water likely remains on some roads.
As of Saturday, not all damage reports were in, but, the area around Spiritwood was most affected, by the flooding.
Stutsman County Sheiff”s Sgt Liz Kapp says, motorists should avoid driving over any roads covered with water, as it’s impossible to tell how deep the water is or whether the road beneath it has been washed out or damaged.
Motorists driving at night should be particularly cautious.
She adds,”Driving at night, reduce the speed right now, and just be attentive that when driving on county roads (or) township roads, that there could be water over the roadways that has not been reported yet.”
