Verna Mayer, 95, Colorado Springs, CO, died Tuesday May 27, 2014 in Colorado Springs, CO.

Verna Gahner was born, Feb 5, 1919, on the family farm near Jud, ND the daughter of Fred and Karolina (Kleinknecht) Gahner.

She and Arthur M Mayer were married on December 3, 1941 at Gackle, ND. They farmed southwest of Montpelier, ND and lived there for 40yrs, farming and raising cattle. They retired in 1976 and continued to reside on the farm. In 1985 they moved to Jamestown, ND. After Verna’s husband passed, in 1999, she moved to the Jameshouse. In 2001she made her home in Colorado Springs with Marilyn and her family.

Verna is survived by 2 daughters Marilyn (Leroy)Lovato, Colorado Springs, CO; Carlotta(Carl) Posz, Excelsior, MN; and a son, Allan Arthur, Richfield, MN; 3 grandchildren, Anna Marie, Christopher Michael Lovato and Adrian Conrad Posz, one sister-in-law, many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, parents, 5 sisters and 7 brothers.

Funeral Service – 2:00 PM Wednesday June 4, 2014 in the United Presbyterian Church in Jamestown, ND with Rev. Richard Raum, officiating

Interment – Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND

Visitation – 6:00PM – 8:00 PM Tuesday @ the funeral home
