Jamestown (CSi) Stutsman County voter turnout on Tuesday was termed light by county officials at the main voting location, at the Jamestown Civic Center.

On Tuesday 2,871 ballots were cast.

There were 200 absentee ballots received. More may be entered into the tabulation if received by mail with a post mark no later than June 9, 2014.

There were 550 early voting ballots cast.

Jamestown (CSi) Today is election day. The polls in Stutsman County will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters must present a valid form of indentification, or sign an affidavid declaring their current residency.

Students attending colleges or universities need a student identification certificate from the school in order to vote, and individuals in long-term care facilities will need certificates provided by their facilities.

Jamestown voters can cast ballots today at the Jamestown Civic Center, along with those residing in rural precincts 3, 4 and 6.

Other polling places are the Pingree Community Center for precinct 1, Kensal Memorial Hall for precinct 2 and Medina Memorial Hall for precinct 5.

North Dakotans have just one statewide ballot measure to decide today and turnout is expected to be light in the state’s primary election. The only statewide vote will be on Measure 1, a proposed constitutional amendment to set an earlier deadline for initiating petitions for ballot – 120 days before the election rather than 90.

Mayoral races in Jamestown, Valley City, Fargo and Williston may stir voter interest in those cities but election officials aren’t expecting voters statewide to throng to the polls.
