Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corporporation (JSDC) Executive Committee has recommended approval of a $350,000 grant request from a subcommittee of the Stutsman County Water Resource Board for a study to establish a storm water runoff management plan.

The study would determine the amount of storm water runoff in the area around Jamestown and could be used to develop storm water mitigation plans.

The vote was 5-1, with Mark Klose, the Stustman County Commission representative on the JSDC, voting against the recommendation.

The City Council’s Finance and Legal Committee has recommended the grant request and to fund the request by taking $350,000 from economic development sales tax money — funds that are usually distributed through a process involving the JSDC.

Jamestown Mayor Katie Andersen said the Finance and Legal Committee’s decision is not final and has to be approved by the City Council.

MillerHollyJSDC CEO Connnie Ova reported that Holly Miller was recently promoted to Vice President of Economic Development.

She added that JSDC’s Business Development Coordinator, DeAnn Brunner, has the left the position on August 19th, addidng that the JSDC staff will re-evaluate MS. Brunner’s former position and see what needs the JSDC has.

She said Ms. Miller’s promotion and Ms. Brunner’s leaving her position are not related.
