Jamestown, ND  (KCSi-T.V. News Oct 11, 2012)  –Jamestown College will welcome alumni and friends back to the campus for Homecoming 2012 Friday and Saturday, Oct. 12 and 13.

The popular Street Fair runs from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The Jimmies will take on Dickinson State at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Homecoming football game.

 

Friday, Oct. 12

The Jimmie Booster Club luncheon begins at noon in the Nafus Center L2. Cost is $7 at the door. Coaches will provide updates on their seasons, and Jimmie fans will have the opportunity to meet student-athletes.

A team of alumni will take on the 2012-13 Jimmie baseball team in the Alumni Baseball Game at 3:30 p.m. at Jack Brown Stadium.

The Jimmie cross country teams will host the Jimmie Invitational at 4 p.m. at Hillcrest Golf Course.

The Jimmie women’s wrestling team will showcase their talent in the Black & Orange Dual at 5 p.m. in the Hansen Center.

The Jimmie women’s basketball team will host an Alumni Game at 5:30 p.m. at Jamestown Middle School, and the Jimmie men’s basketball team will open their season against Brandon University at 7 p.m. at the Jamestown Civic Center.

The Jamestown College Department of Music will present a Homecoming Concert at 7:30 p.m. The Wind Ensemble will begin the concert in DeNault Auditorium, and the Choirs will follow in Voorhees Chapel. A pre-concert reception will take place at 6:45 p.m. in the Reiland Fine Arts Center Lobby.

An alumni and friends social will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Gladstone. All alumni and friends are welcome to attend.

 

Saturday, Oct. 13

Saturday begins with the Homecoming 5K Run/Walk at 7:30 a.m. starting from the Larson Sports Center (YMCA). The cost to participate is $15 ($20 day of race) with proceeds going to the men’s and women’s cross country and track teams. Current Jimmie Janes will serve breakfast for Jimmie Jane Alumni at 8:30 a.m. in the Nafus Center.

The Hall of Fame Breakfast begins at 9 a.m. in the Nafus Center L2. Jamestown College Athletic Hall of Fame inductees John Backhaus, Erin (Boziel) Josing, Shawna Doty-Myers and the 1993-94 men’s basketball team, plus Rollie Greeno Award recipients Phil Martin and Joel Zenker will be recognized. Cost is $8 at the door.

The Street Fair will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Allen Field Commons. Enjoy food, games, arts and crafts while strolling outdoors. Admission is free; costs at each booth may vary.

The Jamestown College Bookstore will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

            The Homecoming football game begins at 1 p.m. A free chili feed will follow at the Civic Center, where the Jimmie men’s basketball team will play another game against Brandon University at 5 p.m.

The Jimmie men’s and women’s wrestling teams will host their Alumni Duals at 7 p.m. in the Hansen Center.
