Valley City (CSi)   A Public Input Meeting is is for Monday evening, at 5-p.m., at the Valley City Eagles, concerning the proposed $16 million, 60,00 square foot  Health, Wellness and Physical Education Center  Wellness Center in Valley City.

The meeting is geared to steer direction and the project’s feasibility, with discussions led by the consulting firm.

The proposed facility would contain three full sized basketball courts, two aquatic center pools, locker rooms along with a walking track, weights and cardio equipment overlooking the gym.

 An upcoming October meeting will address.annual maintenance cost figures.

The Valley City Parks and Recreation Department and Valley City State University are advocating the concept of a community focused Wellness Center that would serve people of all ages.

If passed at the at a November 4, 2014 Advisory vote the measurewould extend over  30-years the ½ percent city sales tax that’s prestly being used to finance the construction of the Hi Liner Activity Center. 

The second measure will ask voter if they  approve extending the existing 1/2 percent city sales tax and use, 83 percent of the money collected to fund construction for permanent flood protection.
