Obituary:

On the eve of Tuesday, September 16, 2014, Gene went to be with Jesus, his Lord an Savior. Eugene Paul Keller was born July 12, 1943, to the parents of Paul and Frieda (Welk) Keller in Edgeley, ND. He lived in Merricourt, ND and then moved to Jamestown in 1958, where he graduated from Jamestown High School in 1961. From there he entered the US Navy in San Diego, CA and served four years as a Hospital Corpsman in Charleston, SC. While serving in Charleston, SC, he met his future wife, Karen Kingsley, who was also a Naval Corpswave. They were married at the hospital chapel on April 25, 1964, and began to later start a family. After being discharged from the Navy they stayed in Charleston, where he worked as the head manager for WT Grants. In 1971, Gene and Karen with their two children moved to Jamestown, ND, where he first worked on the railroad. Gene was then employed at Belltone Hearing Aid before being hired by the Jamestown Sun where he worked for thirty-four years. He retired in 2011 at Advertising Director. Gene was a loving son, husband, father and grandpa. He enjoyed fishing, time spent at the cabin, working in his garage, and loved being with his grandkids. He was also an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys!! Gene and Karen were blessed to have fifty years together, which they celebrated in April being honored by their family as a surprise and fun evening together. Gene is survived by his mother, Frieda Keller, Jamestown; his wife, Karen, Jamestown; two children, Robert (Beth) Keller, grandkids, Lucas and Regan, daughter, Kim (Joel) Nohrenberg, grandkids, Reed, Andrew and Kailynn, all of Jamestown; one brother LeRoy (Sue) Keller, Amy and Scott, Bativia, IL. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Keller, grandchildren, Taylor Nohrenberg and Grant Keller. He will be missed so very much by his family, but we know and have the assurance that this is not good bye, just a temporary separation and we will one day all be together again with a reunion in heaven.
