The 1883 Courthouse Committee, which is working with the State Historical Society of North Dakota, hosted an open house at the courthouse September 13 this year, the first time in 30 years that the public had been able to walk inside the courthouse.
State historic sites manager of the north region for the State Historical Society, Guinn Hinman, says the State Historical Society is working on plans to finish the interior of the courthouse, which will include electrical and plumbing work and the installation of an elevator.
Part of the process includes getting input from the community on what the public would like to see the courthouse become.
