JmstnAirport3Jamestown (CSi) Construction of the new T-hangar at Jamestown Regional Airport is on hold.

The contractor says the firm is being delayed on a previous project.

Construction is slated to begin by the middle of this month.

Meanwhile new wetlands have been created on land northeast of the airport.

The current wetlands are being eliminated because it attracts waterfowl and other birds, which interfere with takeoff and landings at the airport.

The project to eliminate the wetlands will start this fall and be completed next spring.

Local officials met with North Dakota Aeronautics Commission Director, and representatives of the Federal Aviation Administration, talking about the airport’s Capital Improvement Plan.

The Jamestown Regional Airport Authority officials are looking to a hotel/conference center, new industrial and commercial business and a possible convenience store as businesses that l Airport Authority members would like to see locate on Jamestown Regional Airport property in the future.
