LaVonne Magstadt, 77, of Jamestown, ND, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.

LaVonne Moan was born on June 2, 1937, on the family farm near New England, ND, the daughter of Joe and Gena (Olson) Moan. She grew up on the family farm and attended school in New England. She attended college in Miles City, MT, and then moved to Dickinson, ND. LaVonne married Marvin Magstadt on February 26, 1956 in Rainy Butte Church, near New England. They made their home in Dickinson where she worked for a clinic. The family moved to Savage, MT in 1961, then to Wimbledon, ND. In 1966, they moved to Jamestown where LaVonne worked for DePuy-Sorkness Clinic, Job Service of ND, Meritcare clinic, and Stutsman County Social Services. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Eligibility Workers, and the Good Neighbors’ club at Unison Bank. LaVonne had a passion for cross stitching and playing cards, and especially loved her children and grandchildren.

LaVonne is survived by, Becky (Jerry) Widmer and Terri (Doug) Orr; Randy Weatherly; Steve Schlecht; seven grandchildren, Kari (Dess) Diop and their children, Sadiyah & Laila; Tanesha (Jeff Johnson) Orr; Jami Orr; Phillip Disrud; Heather Disrud; Taylor Anderson; and Hanna Magstadt; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin; son, Deron Magstadt; daughters, Wendi Magstadt and Kimberly Weatherly.

Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m., Concordia Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with Rev. Tom Eckstein officiating.

Visitation: None scheduled. Arrangements are with Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.

Interment: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.

Memorials: Salvation Army Food Pantry; Good Shepherd Chapel, Ave Maria Village; or a charity of choice.
