Beverly Mae Rominsky, died peacefully on Friday, October 12, 2012 at Eventide- Hi Acres Nursing Home in Jamestown, ND.

Beverly (Bev) was born on April 22, 1933 to Edwin and Lillian Matzke in Marion, N.D. She graduated from Marion High School and Valley City Teacher’s College. She taught school in a one room school house in Sibley Trail Township.

Bev and LuVerne Rominsky were married on May 30, 1953. Six children were born to this union. Bev was a busy lady, raising her family as well as growing a huge garden, raising chickens, pigs, and cattle and tending her yard.

Beverly was a talented and imaginative writer. She wrote skits and scripts for the Barnes County 4-H Variety Show and the yearly AmVets Show sponsored by her local VFW. After the children began to grow up, Bev worked for gaming at the VFW in Valley City for many years. She was a lifetime member of the VFW auxiliary. Bev enjoyed board and card games as well as many hours of constructing jigsaw puzzles with her family. Beverly’s many friends were also a very important element of her life. She resided in Valley City area until she moved to Eventide in Jamestown in November 2010. Bev’s ready smile, quick wit, and infectious laugh will be remembered and missed by many.

Bev is survived by her children Donald (Pat) Rominsky of El Paso, TX., Linda (David) Bye of Fredericksburg, VA., Janelle Johnson of Jamestown, N.D., Jeff Rominsky of Lafayette, LA., and Todd Rominsky of Chicago, IL., and Jodi (Andy) Wahlund of Chicago, IL.; grandchildren David (Mandy) Rominsky, John (Lindsey) Rominsky, Jessica Rominsky, Morgan (Adam) Barr, Madeline Bye, Brandon (Sonia) Johnson, Brent Johnson, Brooke Johnson, Jamie Rominsky-Hauck, Christopher Wahlund, Johnathan Wahlund, and Joshua Wahlund, as well as 8 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Gloria Gudmestad, Detroit lakes, MN and Joyce (Terry) Olafson, Wadena, MN, 2 sisters-in-law Joyce matzke, Marion, ND and Bernice (Ted) Schmidt, West Fargo, ND and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother Rodney, brother Duane and brother-in-law Donald Gudmestad.

A celebration of Bev’s life will be held Thursday morning October 18th, at 10:30 am at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Valley City. Visitation with the family will be 4-7 Wednesday evening at Lerud-Schuldt Funeral Home in Valley City.
