OAKES, N.D. (AP) – An Oakes man who crashed his pickup truck into a house earlier this year has been convicted on charges of reckless endangerment and impaired driving, along with drug-related counts.

Authorities say the truck driven by 38-year-old Dale Smith Jr. went through the home’s dining room, living room and bathroom before coming to rest in a bedroom on May 16.

Homeowner Nick Podoll was struck by debris. He was treated at a hospital and released. His wife and 2-year-old daughter were not hurt. Smith also was treated at a hospital.

The American News (http://bit.ly/1zfc0BY ) reports that jurors this week found Smith not guilty of criminal vehicle injury. He is to be sentenced on the other charges Dec. 11.
