JSDCJamestown (CSi)  The Stutsman County Commission and the Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corp. have approved a site in Spiritwood Township for a possible crew camp.

The City Council’s Legal and Finance Committee recommended approval of the JSDC’s request for the property of the man camp.

The item is on the Jamestown City Council November 3rd agenda.

A rent of $600 per acre per year has been established for the property.

The plant is still on schedule for completion in the first half of 2018. The plant will employ about 180 people when operating.

The commission has approved a 20-year payment in lieu of taxes plan that requires CHS to employ at least 177 full-time workers.

The agreement calls for CHS to make annual payments of $3.23 million a year after the plant becomes operational in 2018.

Otherwise CHS would have been paying about $9.7 million in property taxes a year based on the estimated $900 million value of the plant at the current mill rates.
