Jamestown (CSi) Jamestown City Building Inspector, Gary Klundt report a substantial increase in building permits issued this year.
Through October 145 building permits were issued in Jamestown compared to 127 in all of 2013.
The increase in total valuation for permits issued so far in 2014 is $44.5 million, compared to $14.1 million in 2013.
The biggest project in Jamestown is Deer Ridge Apartments in northeast Jamestown with a building permit value of $14 million.
The Menards building is the next largest with a $5.9 million value, and the Fairfield Inn located west of the Buffalo Mall ranks third with a $3 million valuation.
Building permits for single-family homes has increased with 30 issued so far, with four more being processed. In 2013, there were 21 issued for the entire year.
