FARGO, N.D. (AP) – Police in Fargo say one individual was hospitalized over the weekend after being stabbed on a party bus.

Lt. Joel Vettel says  two men were arrested following the incident. He says the men were strangers who got on the bus as it left a bar in downtown Fargo.

Vettel says that an argument ensued after they got on the bus and the victim was then stabbed. He adds that the victim suffered a small stab wound to the abdomen and was taken to a local hospital.

Vettel says 33-year-old Ayub Abukar is facing an aggravated assault charge. Twenty-four-year-old Bower Ali, who reportedly has no permanent address, has been charged with resisting a police officer.

Court records don’t list an attorney for Abukar. It’s unclear whether Ali has legal representation.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. is buying a 43-turbine wind farm in southwestern North Dakota.

Allete Clean Energy will develop the project near Hettinger. The $200 million wind farm is expected to be done in December 2015.

MDU, a division of MDU Resources Group Inc., about a year ago signed an agreement to buy the wind farm’s power from Thunder Spirit Wind LLC, a subsidiary of Wind Works Power Corp.

MDU officials say they have now determined that owning and operating the wind farm is preferable for the company. The deal calls for Allete to acquire the Thunder Spirit Wind project, complete the development and sell the completed project to MDU. The sale is subject to regulatory approval.

MDU provides electricity to parts of the Dakotas, Montana and Wyoming.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Basin Electric Power Cooperative says one of its coal-fired plants has reached of milestone of 2.5 million work hours without a major injury.

Basin Electric is based in Bismarck. The company says its Leland Olds power plant in western North Dakota reached the milestone this month.

The plant has 166 workers. The company says the safety record dates back to 2006.

The plant began making electricity in 1966. The company has said that most of the electricity produced at the plant is sent to South Dakota.

WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota Rep. Kevin Cramer says that Williston High School will qualify for a 20 percent federal tax credit for rehabilitation work.

Cramer says the credit is part of a historic building designation by the National Park Service. The incentive is meant to encourage the preservation of historic places.

The credit will cover the $10.7 million paid for work on the high school.

In sports…

FARGO, N.D. (AP) – The coach of three-time defending FCS champion North Dakota State says his team will have a big advantage hosting playoff games in the Fargodome.

Chris Klieman (KLY’-muhn) tells WDAY-TV that “it’s an electric atmosphere,” and a tough environment for opponents. But he also says the Bison have to play their best, or they could get knocked out.

NDSU lost earlier this season at Northern Iowa and is the No. 2 overall seed in the playoffs. The Bison will play in the Fargodome on Dec. 6 against the winner of the first-round matchup this Saturday between South Dakota State and Montana State.

New Hampshire is the top seed in this year’s playoffs.

In world and national news…

FERGUSON, Mo. (AP) – A long-awaited grand jury decision may be near. Media outlets citing unidentified sources are reporting that the grand jury considering whether Ferguson, Missouri, Police Officer Darren Wilson should be charged in the death of Michael Brown has reached a decision. CNN, citing U.S. and local law enforcement officials it did not identify, said the St. Louis County prosecutor would announce a decision today. The Washington Post, citing sources close to the process, said both the prosecutor’s and Missouri governor’s offices were preparing for press conferences likely to come later in the day.

NEW YORK (AP) – Elected officials in New York City say prosecutors should charge a police officer who killed an unarmed man in a dark public housing stairwell. A city councilman and a newly-elected state lawmaker met Monday with officials in the Brooklyn D-A’s office. Afterward, assemblyman-elect Charles Barron said he thinks the shooting of Akai (uh-KY’) Gurley warrants a charge of criminally negligent homicide. Gurley was killed Thursday night. Police say he and his girlfriend had opened a door into a stairway, and an officer patrolling the pitch-dark stairwell with his gun drawn fired.

WASHINGTON (AP) – An Iowa man arrested who had a hunting rifle, ammunition and a knife in his car near the White House last week has pleaded guilty. Prosecutors say R.J. Kapheim pleaded guilty today to misdemeanor charges of possessing an unregistered firearm and ammunition. He faces up to two years in prison when he’s sentenced in January. Court documents say Kapheim approached a Secret Service post and said he had an appointment with the president, who Kapheim said called him directly.

WASHINGTON (AP) – Both the Democrats and Republicans could end up choosing their next presidential nominee in Ohio. The Democratic National Committee Monday narrowed down the list of contenders for the 2016 national convention, and Columbus, Ohio is still in the running — along with New York and Philadelphia.
