CHSlogoJamestown (CSi) Plans are moving forward with Stutsman Rural Water District to meet a December 22 deadline to give CHS information for a water treatment plant to provide industrial water for the planned nitrogen fertilizer plant.

The combined water flow would be treated at a plant operated by Stutsman Rural Water located south of Spiritwood, then water would be piped to the CHS nitrogen fertilizer plant. Additional capacity could be used by other industrial water users in the future. About 10 percent of the water going into the plant is waste and not part of the output.

CHS announced it was moving forward with a $3 billion nitrogen fertilizer plant in September. with operation in the first half of 2018.
