John William Thorenson was born October 26, 1946 in Minot, ND to George and Olivia (Hinds) Thorenson. He attended school at Newberg, ND. He married Beverly Kamrud. They had two children. John farmed and later worked in the Hurdsfield Grain Elevator. On October 18, 1986, he married Eunice Bedker-Baumgartner in Jamestown, ND and became the step-father of four children. They made their home in Jamestown where he worked as an over the road truck driver for a few different companies in the area. John later owned his own company, “Rigs-R-Us”, and drove with the company of his wife for a couple of years. John entered the Kingdom of Heaven on December 9, 2014 in his step-daughter’s home in Jamestown, while being cared for by his family with the help of Hospice of the Red River Valley. He was a member of the Eagles Club in Harvey, ND. John enjoyed traveling, country music, driving semi, and the company of family and friends. John is survived by his wife, Eunice of Jamestown; his children, Melissa (Jim Kirkeide) Thorenson of Lincoln, ND, Daniel (Becky) Thorenson of Independence, KS; step-children, Wade (Lisa) Baumgartner of Forrest, VA, Stewart (Lisa) Baumgartner, Daron Baumgartner, and Mona (Rodney) Rudland all of Jamestown; 22 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Jordiene (Arnold) Larson of Souris, ND and Janice (Terry) Bowman of West Hope, ND; and his mother-in-law, Hada Bedker of Edgeley, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Jerissa Ford; an infant grandchild; and his father-in-law, Melvin Bedker. A prayer service will be held at Victory Lutheran Church, Jamestown, on Thursday, December 11 beginning at 7:00 PM. A Celebration of Life for John will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, December 12, 2014 at Victory Lutheran Church.
