DRAFT MINUTES- Planning Commission

 

January 12, 2015 – 8:00 a.m.

 

Present: Trautman, Ritter, Rath, Rhinehart, Frye,

 

Others: Reuther, Klundt, Mayor Andersen, Wiles, Fuchs, Wollan, Harty, Schwartzkopf

 

Absent: Hillerud, Bensch, Bayer

 

Vice Chairman Trautman called the meeting to order. Commission Member Rath made a motion to approve the minutes from the December 8, 2014 Planning Commission meeting. Commission member Ritter seconded. Motion Carried.

Public Hearing: Zone Change Request – WITHDRAWN

  1. Lots 133-138, Jones & Vennum Addition to Jamestown, from R-2-A (One to Twelve Family Residential District) to C-1 (Local Commercial District).

Secretary Wollan read the options available to bring the buildings into conformity and allow for the approval of a building permit for an interior remodel as explained in an email from Stephanie Falkers, SRF Consulting Group, Inc. as follows:

Option 1: Special Use Permit to allow buildings of essential services to be located within R2A district.

Option 2: Pursue the Zone Change request to C-1 (Local Commercial District).

Vice Chairman Trautman opened the public hearing.

Casey Bradley, Stutsman County Auditor/COO, explained that the County would like to do some remodeling to the existing County building to house the Extension facility offices and possibly other County offices in the future.

Vice Chairman Trautman closed the public hearing.

Commission member Frye made a motion to recommend the City Council grant a special use permit for Lots 133-138, Jones & Vennum Addition. Seconded by Commission member Rhinehart. Roll call. Unanimous aye vote. Motion carried.

City Engineer Schwartzkopf gave a brief update on the Land Use & Transportation Plan as he had sent out an email previously with a new copy of the presentation attached that was used at the NDDOT Management Committee Meeting held on December 18, 2014.

Commission member Ritter made a motion to adjourn. Seconded by Rath. Meeting Adjourned.
