Update…
Jamestown (CSi) An Iowa man was the driver of a cattle hauler involved in the overturning accident last Friday near Jamestown Regional Medical Center.
28 year-old Ross Van Kinkel of Inwood, Iowa was traveling eastbound on I-94 east of Exit 257 when the rig drifted into the left lane.
He over-corrected and the unit tipped over on the driver’s side.

Van Kinkel was not wearing his seat belt and was not injured.
He was cited for care required.
The hauler contained 88 head of cattle with 23 dying in the accident.
16 head of cattle that got loose, were herded into a makeshift cattle gate from as far away as the Menard’s construction site. .
The North Dakota Highway Patrol, Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office and Jamestown Police were on scene to assist.

Jamestown (CSi) The North Dakota Highway Patrol Friday morning was investigating what cause a cattle truck to overturn about 5-a.m., eastbound on I-94 east of Exit 257 near Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

Traffic was slowed on I-94 east and westbound, for a time, to allow access with wreckers on the scene.
The rig was hauling 80 head of cattle, and 16 head of cattle that got loose, were herded into a makeshift cattle gate from as far away as the Menard’s construction site. .
23 of the animals perished in the accident.
The scene was being tended to through early Friday afternoon, moving the dead and live cattle out of the cattle hauler and getting the live cattle moved into another hauler. .
The North Dakota Highway Patrol, Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office and Jamestown Police were on scene to assist.
It’s unclear what caused the truck to crash.
More information pending the completion of the investigation, and filing of the accident report.
