Spiritwood (CSi) Fire Saturday evening destroyed a Spiritwood home.
The Jamestown Rural Fire Department responded to 2940 91st Avenue, Southeast, as the house was fully involved in flames when the fire units arrived on the scene.
The owner of the two story house, Rosemary Jasmann was not at home when the fire broke out.
However, the home was occupied by Charles Johnson who heard a loud bang, and found the second floor on fire.
A partially collapsed chimney attatched to a wood stove is believed to be the cause of the fire, as a wood stove was loaded before the fire broke out.
Johnson was not injured.
Red Cross volunteers at the fire scene assisted Johnson and the firefighters with hot beverages and food.
He and Jasmann stayed with relatives or friends Saturday night.
Twenty firefighters and six units responded to the fire. A rural firefighter received a cut hand.
The home is a total loss according to Rural Fire Chief, Rick Woehl.
