Carl W. Ross, 84, of Edgeley, ND, died early Wednesday morning, February 25, 2015 at Oakes Community Hospital.

Carl W. Ross was born on December 22, 1930, in a rock house on a farm northwest of Edgeley. He received his education in a country school house in the area. The family moved to a farm south of Edgeley in 1948. Carl was drafted into the US Army on November 28, 1951 and served with Company A 106th Tank Battalion during the Korean Conflict. He was discharged as a PFC on August 27, 1953. Carl married Shirley Michlitsch on July 21, 1957 in Aberdeen, SD. They made their home on a farm west of Edgeley. He worked for the North Dakota State Hospital in Jamestown for 12 years until his retirement. Carl enjoyed bowling and playing pinochle.

Carl is survived by his two sons, Terry Ross, Edgeley and Ricky Ross, Edgeley; three brothers, Leonard (Leanora) Ross, Garrison, ND, Wilbert (Betty) Ross, Edgeley, and Kenneth (Dottie) Ross, Eden Prairie, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Shirley, on March 27, 2008.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the Zion Lutheran Church, Edgeley, with Rev. Alan Eppen officiating.

Visitation: 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 27, 2015 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley.

Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 27, 2015 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley.

Interment: Mt. Hope Cemetery, Edgeley, at a later date.
