GriggsCourthousenewbldgCooperstown (CSi) With the help of a mediator Griggs County reach a settlement Tuesday to complete construction on the $3.5 million dollar courthouse in Cooperstown.

Contractors walked off the construction site last May after not being paid and the building sat empty even though it is 90 percent complete.

The Griggs County Commission agreed to pay a bill from the contractor for $274,000. Commissioners say they’ll have to figure out where to get another $180,000 to finish the new Griggs County Courthouse.
